Imago Dei-Grisaille Stage 2
I've been busy last few weeks and have not had time to paint. Was glad to get a moment to tweak some of the details on this tonight before I begin to glaze color. The hands of the adult and the toes of the infant on this piece scramble my brains!

John Piper-Desring God
John Piper's book Desiring God is available for an excellent price at the Scripture Truth Book Company for the low price of $10.39
I mention this book because it had a profound influence on me and my understanding of the sovereignty of God and what God requires of us.
From the Publisher:
Scripture reveals that the great business of life is to glorify God by enjoying Him forever. In this paradigm-shattering classic, newly revised and expanded, John Piper reveals that the debate between duty and delight doesn’t truly exist: Delight is our duty. Readers will embark on a dramatically different and joyful experience of their faith...The pursuit of pleasure is not optional. It is essential.

Imago Dei-Grisaille Stage 1
Harder than it looks!
Imago Dei is Latin for image of God. Scripture tells us man was made in the image of God. Murder is wrong because to take the life of a man is to attack the image of God.

Antikythera Mechanism
What sort of technology did the ancients have? According to this recently discovered proof, quite a bit! This incredible video from Scientific American spotlights a fantastic ancient mechanical device found on a sunken ship which was able to measure astronomical movements. It was also able to measure the four year interval between ancient olypmic games!

Imago Dei-Umber Stage 2
I've continued to establish shadows. At this time, there's only one color on the canvas. I do think the toes are a "little" cute!

"Imago Dei" Umber Stage 1
This new painting is somewhat abstract, but you should be able to tell what it is. It's not going to be easy, that's for sure! (But it's for a worthy cause...more later.)
